The SCVS 2010 abstract submission site is now open. Don’t miss this opportunity to submit your original and innovative work at this year’s 38th Annual Symposium, to be held April 7-10, 2010 at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, AZ.

The SCVS Annual Symposium has become one of the most popular educational offerings within the vascular speciality with scientific programs now even stronger and more comprehensive than ever.

Presentation formats include:
 •  Oral Presentations — Full-length abstract presentation (which includes the Peter B. Samuels Award)
 •  Mini Oral Presentations — shortened version of the Full Oral but at only 3 minutes each!
 •  Video Presentations — A very successful format and we are looking for submissions!
 •  Poster Presentations (including the Allastair Karmody Competition)

2009 Meeting Highlights

Thank you to all who attended this year’s meeting.
Please don’t forget to fill out our post meeting survey and obtain your CME Certificate.

REMINDER: All Oral presentations are required to submit their manuscript to the
Journal of Vascular Surgery preferably no later than two weeks following the meeting.

• Over 60 authors presented original research during the scientific sessions, with an additional 25 out of 38 authors participating in the Karmody Poster Competition.
 
• Industry supported enhancements included 35 tabletop exhibits, 6 hands-on stations, 2 luncheon symposia, 4 sponsored programs for fellows and incoming fellows and young vascular surgeons as well as multiple breakfast SIGs (special interest group sessions).
 
• Outstanding Postgraduate Courses on "Unusual Venous Problems and Outcomes" and "New Applications of Noninvasive Laboratory" were given.
 
• The Peter B. Samuels Award went to Houssam K. Younes, MD, for his presentation, "Hybrid Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR): Are We Pushing The Envelope Too Far?"
 
• The Allastair Karmody Award went to Aaron E. Bond, MD, for his poster presentation,
"The Influence of Stents on the Performance of an Ultrasonic Navigational System for Endovascular Procedures"
